221 years ago today, the ship Columbia set sail for the first American voyage round the world.

While working on a documentary on the Columbia Expedition and its mercurial commander, Captain John Kendrick of Orleans, I will be posting entries of the log of Robert Haswell and others who served aboard Columbia and her smaller companion, Lady Washington.
